World’s Fastest Woman from Saint Lucia

Julien Alfred from Saint Lucia has become the world’s fastest woman. This achievement was marked by her winning the gold medal in the women’s 100 meters event at the 2024 Paris Olympics yesterday (3rd). She completed the final race in 10.72 seconds.

This victory also marks the first Olympic gold medal ever won by Saint Lucia, a Caribbean island nation.

However, American athlete Sha’Carri Richardson, who many expected to win the gold medal in this event, secured the silver medal. She recorded a time of 10.87 seconds, providing a tough competition to the winner, Julien Alfred.

The bronze medal in this event was won by Melissa Jefferson of the United States, who finished the race in 10.92 seconds.
