Usha Vance, born Usha Bala Chilukuri on January 6, 1986, in San Diego, California, has become a prominent figure in American public life as the Second Lady of the United States, following her husband JD Vance’s inauguration as Vice President in January 2025.
The daughter of Indian immigrants, Usha’s mother is a molecular biology professor, and her father is an aerospace engineer and university lecturer.
